The NBA lockout is driving me and every other true NBA fan crazy, so to ease your pain I would like to give you TheSportsBoys predictions for the 2011-12 NBA season (which I predict will come in around Christmas time).
Coach of the Year: Tom Thibodeau
I think Tom will repeat as the Bulls cruise to 64 wins with the help of their newly acquired swingman (Who they will grab during this years free agency period).
Most Improved Player: Terrence Williams
Terrence Williams only played in twenty-one games, he should play more minutes and start using his upside this year, I figure he goes from 14MPG, 5PPG, 0SPG, 2APG, 2RPG, 67%FT, 37% FG, and 27% 3FG to 36 minutes, 45% field goal, 32% money ball, 73% from the charity stripe, one steal, seven rebounds, five assists, and sixteen points per game, not to mention getting to the line over and over again and locking up every SF not named LeBron or Carmelo. Terrence needs to be played and when he is he'll turn into a Grant Hill like player.
Rookie of the Year: Kemba Walker
Walker should lead all rookies in scoring, shoot about 43% and pass around 5 assist a game, plus he will show NBA fans his amazing ways to get to the rim.
Sixth Man of the Year: Jamal Crawford
Jamal has been 6th man of the year before and seems to be more determined then ever, not to mention age doesn't seem to bother Mr. Crawford.
NBA All-Rookie First Team:
G - Kemba Walker
G - Kyrie Irving
F - Derrick Williams
F - Bismack Biyombo
C - Enes Kanter
NBA All-Rookie Second Team:
G - Brandon Knight
G - Klay Thompson
F - Jan Vesely
F - Tristan Thompson
C - JaJuan Johnson
NBA All-Defensive First Team:
G - Rajon Rondo
G - Tony Allen
F - LeBron James
F - Andre Iguodala
C - Dwight Howard
NBA All-Defensive Second Team:
G - Jrue Holiday
G - Thabo Sefolosha
F - Grant Hill
F - Tyson Chandler
C - Joakim Noah
NBA All-NBA First Team:
G - Chris Paul
G - Kobe Bryant
F - LeBron James
F - Carmelo Anthony
C - Dwight Howard
NBA All-NBA Second Team:
G - Derrick Rose
G - Dwyane Wade
F - Kevin Durant
F - Dirk Nowitzki
C - Amare Stoudemire
NBA All-NBA Third Team:
G - Deron Williams
G - Russell Westbrook
F - Blake Griffin
F - Pau Gasol
C - Al Horford
Defensive Player of the Year: Dwight Howard
Dwight's fourth but definitely not last time winning this award, 'nuff said?
Most Valuable Player: Chris Paul
I think CP3 will hit double digit assists numbers again, when he throws up a 22-10 he will prove his MVP status, whether he does it for the Knicks or the Hornets is the question...
and the newest addition:
TheSportsBoys Player of the Year Award: Carmelo Anthony
Whether the Knicks grab Deron or CP3 they will help Melo unleash his wrath on opposing defences and win the scoring title, then possibly make the NBA Finals.
TheSportsBoys POY is not to be confused with the MVP, it is presented to the most impressive player not most valuable (e.x. in 1993 Charles Barkley may have been the player of the year but was definitely not the most valuable, which was of course Michael Jordan).
