Top 10: Dirtiest Danglers in the 'L'

Most of our lists only have 11 players, but this list needed an extra spot to fit in a dirty dangler who could not be left off the list:

11. B) Anze Kopitar
Anze Kopitar does not have the speed of most the players on this list but he sure has the moves to put him on it, playing similar to a Malkin-Lite with his shoulders and dekes (I was gonna say Mini-Malkin before realizing he has over 20 pounds on Malkin) he makes highlight reals everywhere and almost every night, even when Anze has a goalless night you have been entertained, here's to Slovenia's best and only.

11. A) Alexander Semin
Alexander Semin is "The Other Alex" in DC and "Alexander The Great" wherever he goes in free agency this summer, and hopefully he goes back to his dangling ways for whoever drops a ridiculous amount of money on him this year, Semin is a great talent but doesn't seem to care (kinda like Alexei Kovalev not to long ago, and Alexander Mogilny before that, hmmmm I'm definitely not naming my kid Alex...) If he can get it together he will stay one of the dirtiest danglers and funnest players to watch.

10. John Tavares
Tavares is one of the best danglers in the league after only 3 years, and with his lack of speed (as opposed to super speedy dangler from the same draft class as Tavares) he needs to have some slick moves to score his goals this year, and it helped him make the leap from good player to great player this year, with him deking players left and right the Isles have something to have fun with.

9. Rick Nash
Tell me Rick Nash does not deserve to be on this list, I DARE you... Rick Nash is on this list and for good reason, he would be way higher if not for his obvious slowing down lately and others speeding up in terms of deking, but he still has some great moves and once he is rejuvenated he will be up there once again.

8. Tyler Seguin
Tyler Seguin made a living in the WHL by deking then passing to an open man for a wrister, but now that he's in the NHL he is making a living off of his burst of speed, then undressing the last defender and goalie (or his beauty wrister which makes goalies look just as bad, or his one timers). Seguin has deked many in just two years on his way to a cup, and become the Bruins best offensive contributor, not to mention he has a great shootout percentage after taking many shots in his career so far.

7. Patrick Kane
Patty Kane has been spinning defenders and showing off his sick hands since the day he came to the show, and had recently surfaced as everyone's choice for best hands (as they were tired of saying Datsyuk) and still is the choice for many (Well until number two on this list emerged).

6. Claude Giroux
Giroux emerged this year as a franchise player and picked up where he left off last year turning defenders inside out, with his very very quick dekes from side to side, and many other moves.

5. Alexander Ovechkin
Ovechkin has done everything from a simple quick deke to an off the boards pass to him self in the middle of a spin move to scoring while rolling over on the ice after deking a defender, what more is there for him to do.

4. Sidney Crosby
"Sid the Kid" isn't really a kid anymore, in fact should be entering his career peak, but injuries have held him back a little bit, despite the injuries he has remained a flawless skater and amazing dangler, putting top d-men to shame regularly and then doing it all over again.

3. Evgeni Malkin
Malkin is a great deker and as close as anyone to number 2, too bad it's still not very close but whatever... Back to Malkin, Malkin goes to the net with an aggressive mix of shoulders and dekes (in a similar way to how Peter Forsberg did back in the day), and it seems to work amazingly, if I had to have a shootout with players in the league right now Malkin would be in my top three picks for sure.

2. Matt Duchene
The day Datsyuk retires Matt Duchene is the "Dangling King" and it doesn't seem like it will be close, Matt Duchene has faked more defenders in his 2 and some change years than most players do in a lifetime, having more than 3 goals up for goal of the year talk and some of the dirtiest dekes I have seen in a while.

1. Pavel Datsyuk
Datsyuk is widely considered the greatest dangler of all-time, and to even be considered that you have to be close, and even if he wasn't he is untouchable in the game today.

Top 10: Wrist Shots in the L'

In last years playoffs Tyler Seguin's wrist shot wrreaked havoc on unsuspecting D's and this year the same happened in the regular season, with playoffs around the corner and the wrist shot a super reliable option we thought we'd rank the best in the league.

Starting with none other than:

11.Kyle Turris
There were reasons Kyle Turris was drafted third overall, and one was his wrist shot, described as "Sakic like" hard to say I don't see similarities (Sakic's will always be the greatest though), If Turris continues to get his act together he can be a great player and constant scoring threat.

10. Jeff Carter
Although Jeff Carter may have a reputation for being brittle, fragile and soft his wrist shot is nothing of the sort, as it is one of the quickest, strongest and most accurate releases in the league. It would be higher if not for an absolutely horrid year from Carter.

9. Ryan Kesler
Keslers production may have taken a dip this year but he's still got a wrister that can find the back of the net from the top of the circle and beyond.

8. Evgeni Malkin
When you think of "Geno" the first thing that pops in your head is probably "playmaker" but "Geno" also packs one of the deadliest wristers in the game, and rode it to 50 goals this year.

7. Marian Gaborik
Gaborik has been one of the leagues premier goal scorers for a long tim and his scorching wrister is a big reason why.

6. Mike Fisher
Mike Fisher has one of the quickest and hardest shots in the L be it wrist or slap, but his wrist was the main reason a contender like Nashville who needed offense picked him up.

5. Phil Kessel
Phil Kessel's quick and powerful wrist shot demanded a pot of gold when they were traded, and he puts it in like it's nothing.

4. Alexander Ovechkin
Ovechkin has one of the prettiest and best wristers ever, and kinda like Kobe's midrange J' it cannot be stopped

3. Ilya Kovalchuk
Kovalchuk has had 30+ goals 9 times in his career, 40+ 5 times and 50+ twice, I think it's safe to say him and his wrister are atleast top 3, not to mention he hits it off balance as easily as can be.

2. Tyler Seguin
Tyler Seguin's wrist shot emerged in the playoffs last year as one of the best, and used that scorcher to bulge the twine 29 times in his sophomore year, he has proven it's worth on top defenders and goalies, and by the end of the playoffs may take the crown as it looks like a mirror version of the all-time best Joe Sakic's.

1. Alexander Semin
Semin has the best wrist shot in the league, but that may change very soon due to the emergence of Tyler Seguin and Kyle Turris getting his act together in Ottawa, but atleast for now Semin tops the list unleashing beauties like these whenever he chooses to actually try.

Top 10: Crossovers in the L'

I ran through the top ten crossovers of all-time and I thought I'd let you know who has the best cross in the L'.

11. Eric Gordon
Eric Gordon has broken the ankles of more than a few, and as an undersized shooting guard it really helps.

10. Rajon Rondo
How do you think Razor carves defenses up to rack up the layups, dunks and passes, it all comes from his devastating cross, he almost completely changes directions leaving defenders dazed.

9. Kobe Bryant
Once upon a time Kobe's cross struck fear into the hearts of many, and it still does but not the same fear it once did. He still has his quick go to move he can hit you with though,

8. Brandon Jennings
Young Money can cross with the best of them, the only thing is he doesn't use it as much in the NBA as he could, but when he does bad things happen to the defense.

7. Jamal Crawford
JCrossover once had the best crossover in the L' and possibly still has the smoothest but he doesn't use it as much as he used to and when he does it doesn't seem to work as well anyways.

6. Tyreke Evans
Once again he has the best "look at what this guy can do handles" and has crossed people just as viciously as anyone else on this league.

5. Dwyane Wade
A devastating first step plus he can stop on a dime and he has sent a premier NBA defender sliding across the floor.

4. John Wall
The fastest player in the league has the quickest first step in the league, switching directions and getting up and down the court faster than anyone else, not to mention he completely changes directions, plus once he proves himself he may beat out CP3 and Rose for the number two spot.

3. Derrick Rose
The closest speed to John Wall plus the quickness that is around the same, Derrick Rose has proved his crossover in his short time in the L'

2. Chris Paul
Showed his dirty crossover in the playoffs making more than one person dance.

1. Deron Williams
The best crossover in the league and he brings it at you every time, plus no one ever stops it.

Top 10: Spin Moves of All-Time

The spin move, an underrated move nowadays but one of the most effective, plus ballers who can use the spin move efficiently can leave defenders spinning like tops. Once again a list finished with help from @DrHoopenstein and @DKyle24, So let's check it out.

11. John Wall
We're starting off with the young guns, John Wall has the quickest spin in the L' and after he proves himself he will probably be around number four or five. Wall can finish, shoot or pass out of his spin, plus he doesn't actually know how he does it, he has been quoted saying it's just a "reaction", which makes it seem even cooler.

10. Mike Bibby
Bibby took the behind the back spin GP used as a third option and made it his bread and butter, he used this move around 22 times a game for the Sacramento Kings and it was only stopped by elite defensive guards, around 5 times a game.

9. Calvin Murphy
A small point guard who had a spin move that Gary Payton said he based his off of, it seemed to work for both of them, Cal used it to blow past defenders for 17.9 points per game over his career and 25.6 in 77-78, and not to mention 14 kids by 9 different women, as the best under six foot NBA scorer ever.

8. Nate Archibald
Tiny's spin move benefited more on people being scared of his crossover than his actual spin move, nonetheless he got into the paint with it almost every time.

7. Isiah Thomas
Zeke once again had a move that only had to rely on his quickness to make a top ten list.

6. Pete Maravich
Pistol Pete had a spin move that was great, in fact, see it for  yourself below.

5. Jerry West
Logo had a great spin move where he routinely leaned off balance and spun then finished with a crossover, it was so good it became the NBA logo.

4. Derrick Rose
D-Rose A.K.A the reigning MVP has the best spin move in the league and it seemed to get better over the off-season this year, but either way, having one of the quickest spins helps  it reach the number four spot.

3. Earvin Johnson
For some of you youngin's or even just people with bad memories that would be Magic Johnson, Magic used the spin move excellently, it may not have been his main move but he passed out of it perfectly, plus he left many spinning.

2. Earl Monroe
The Pearl created a spin that certain players revolutionized later, and it worked soon any defender back in the day, he made the spin a go-to move and slingshotted it into the spotlight.

1. Gary Payton
The Glove used his perfectly executed spin move out of the post, in the open court and in his signature move, off of his great crossover. Payton's spin is stuff of legends as he used it to get to the rim and finish, passed out of it, and just plain left defenders spinning...

Top 10: Crossovers of All Time

Let's get this straight, it's a list of the top ten player's crossovers ever not just crossovers, and it's complete with help from @DrHoopenstein and @DKyle24 so follow them and let's go.

Stevie Franchise had a great crossover that I see as on par with White Chocolate, Skip To My Lou and Starbury but since there were limited spots on the list he falls in at the 11 not to shabby Franchise.

White chocolate had a dirty crossover, and showed it on the best defender of all-time, he also crossed many, leaving a trail of broken ankles behind.

Skip To My Lou was an And-1 superstar for a reason, his ballhandling was possibly the best in the league (in a wow look what he can do way).

Starbury crossed people over every time he came down the court and it always seemed to work, plus after he crossed you then hit you with his hopstep you were finished and left gasping for air.

CP3 has a great crossover that has broken many defenders, and as there may be more clips of CP3 and newer guards there are better crossovers.

CP3 has a great crossover and many think it is better than Deron Williams but D-Will brings it every time and it is never stopped while CP3 has a great crossover and it may be on the level of D-Will's Deron brings him and it never gets stopped, especially when he is in his zone.

KJ was a point guard that demanded attention, his crossover commanded point guards to stand around 4 feet away so there ankles were protected.

4. Isiah Thomas
Zeke may have been the quickest baller ever, and his crossover showed, is there anything more to say?

3. Nate Archibald
Tiny, The Answer and Mr.Crossover were all on the same level when it comes to crossovers each one narrowly edging each other, Tiny's crossover hurt the ankles of teams everywhere.

What can I say about The Answer, Antonio Daniels, 'nuff said...

1. Tim Hardaway
Mr.Crossover, his name had crossover in it, what else is there to say, Tim Hardaway had a quickness in his first step that out him a bit before The Answer and Tiny, plus his crossover would still be legal nowadays while The Answers would not.

Fillin' It Up: NBA Scoring Leaders

10. Blake Griffin:
The Blake Show has become possibly the best power forward in the NBA (along with K-Love and LA), He may not have the most polished offensive game yet or the best defensive game but he still manages to fill the hoop up with 21.2 PPG on 53% from the field.

9. Derrick Rose:
D-Rose is showing up again this year while improving his post game, Derrick Rose can beat you every way possible and grabs the W's along the way. Possibly the fastest in the 'L, the most explosive PG and he can and does everything needed to win. 22 PPG 46% FG.

8. Monta Ellis:
Monta is always around the top of the scoring list but has upped his all around play this year. Many say it's just a case of a bad team so someone has to score thee points, but with his explosiveness and vendetta for the rim it has to be more than him just jacking up shots, plus he demands attention as soon as he gets the ball. 22.2 PPG 43% FG.

7. Carmelo Anthony:
The best pure scorer in the league, he may be having a down year but "The Bully" or Melo can put the biscuit in the basket anyway you can think of, turning into a somewhat modern day Bernard King, Melo may soon bring a ring to NY with his 22.3 PPG on his 40% FG.

6. Russell Westbrook:
Westbrook has a vendetta against the rim, i mean he absolutely HATES it! I mean, you tell me why else would he attack it so much? He blazes down the court and spins around his defender, rises to the rim and slams it down, and he completes that task all the time, its no wonder he's scoring 22.9 PPG on 46% FG.

5. LaMarcus Aldridge:
A breakout year for LA has provided Rip-City with a much needed consistent scorer (in the absence of Brandon Roy), LA has a polished offensive game and can take almost any defender in the league and drop 20 on them! 23.3 PPG 51% FG.

4. Kevin Love:
K-Love has improved his scoring average with the help of Ricky Rubio, He has a great game and can fill it up from inside to the three, what else is there to say about his 25.6 PPG and 45% FG, oh other than he is insanely strong on the block. 25.6 PPG 45% FG.

3. Kevin Durant:
It has to be KD, nailing threes, drilling fade or just plain cashing J's, Kevin Durant is a dominant scorer, and does it in the clutch, the way the Thunder have been playing looks as if they could come out on top of the west this year.

2. LeBron James:
LeBron "The King" James seems like he can come away with another MVP this year (if it doesn't go to Kobe). He has been scorching defenses with his speed and ability to fill it up, in fact he's been filling it up at 28.1 PPG and on 54% from the field, and if the Heat stay healthy it looks as if no one will be able to stop them in the post season.

1. Kobe Bryant:
"The Black Mamba" is at it again averaging a hair under 30 PPG at 29.4 PPG and 44% from the field. Kobe is outrunning age and doing everything he can to win, Kobe has been hurting people down low, from deep (although being shaky from there) and everywhere in between, his fadeaway is as deadly as ever and he can still get up to the rim, cramming it down in traffic, it seems as if Kobe has found the elixir of youth and may once again finish with the NBA scoring title.

Top 10 Hitters of All-Time

Certain players perfected the technique, others created there own, and a few just fly at the guy but these are our top ten NHL hitters of all-time (well 11 like always we add our TheSportsBoys honorable mention as an extra number).

11. Bryan Marchment:
One of the dirtiest players in the NHL was also one of the best clean hitters, had he devoted his career to hitting people cleanly he would still be remembered but as a huge devastating hitter instead of a dirty trickster, He was a great upright body hitter, as well as a master of the shoulder-check, hip-check, and knee on knee collision. Described by many as a danger on ice.

10. Adam Foote:
Adam Foote may not have the most bone-crunching hits on this list or the most flat-out collisions, but he did finish all his checks, hitting with huge velocities, knocking people onto benches, threw the glass and flat out down. Foote may be the toughest defender of his era, possibly the best shot blocker, but one thing's for sure, Adam Foote was an exceptional body checker, and he knocked possibly the most people over out of everyone on this list while managing to stay up during and after almost every hit (he perfected his body checking technique, no easy feat, believe me).

9. Chris Pronger:
Chris Pronger may be the biggest hitter of the past five years, he is a brutal hitter, Pronger was a great two way defender, great checker, and possibly the grittiest player of them all (IN my opinion it's between him and Foote).

8. Denis Potvin:
Considered by many the second best defender behind Bobby Orr, Potvin would loved to hit, didn't mind being hit, and is one of the greatest back-checkers ever (no one could gain as much speed back-checking someone).

7. Dion Phaneuf:
Dion is a great all-around hitter, but it most known for destroying opponents with his huge hits, one thing to think of when thinking of Dion Phaneuf is like the Dwight Howard of the NHL, a physical specimen who shuts down the path to the basket or in this case to the net, blocking shots like none other in the league nowadays or in this case knocking opponents senseless which seems to be a form discouraged and lost nowadays.

6. Vladimir Konstantinov:
Konstantinov was a cold blooded killer, He was a clean but deadly hitter who stuck the body on much of the league but was a dual threat as he had great puck control, good passing, and on top of that was being mentored by the excellent Viacheslav Fetisov who is the greatest Soviet defender and maybe the greatest Soviet player ever, what more could you want.

5. Cam Neely:
Cam Neely is possibly the greatest power forward ever, he designed a style that defined the careers of players like Eric Lindros, Jeremy Roenick, John LeClair and Rick Nash, He may have also won a Stanley Cup had it not been for a knee on knee collision between Neely and Ulf Samuelsson. He also stuck the body on opposing players whenever possible.

4. Wendel Clarke:
Wendel Clarke possessed one of the greatest wrist shots ever, (In fact top four ever according to out research and top 50 wrist shots ever) but he could also throw some of the hardest punches and dish out some of the most punishing hits we have seen, he learnt as a kid to hit key players as much as possible and learnt frustrating them with his play kept them off the score sheet easily.

3. Rob Blake:
Rob Blake is the second biggest hitting defense-men of his era (behind Scott Stevens) and the third best hitter of all-time according to The Sports Boys. His trademark was the back-check, he was an exceptional defense-men in every aspect of the game, but his back-checks (that could be mistaken for assault with a weapon) and face-up hits were excellent, and like Foote, he stays up after most hits (another technique perfecter).

2. Eric Lindros:
Eric Lindros, Ironic that the second best hitter had his career altered by a series of hits starting with a classic hit from none other than our top hitter Scott Stevens, but back to Lindros. Eric Lindros had great technique (not as great as Foote, Blake, or Stevens but still great) he generated power by exploding from a lowered stance while trying to gain a lower center of gravity, he turned the body check into physics, but the thing that made his hits so brutal was the fact that he was an magnificent skater in a six foot four inch two hundred thirty thirty pound monster. He was built like a tank, and was a man playing among boys (even in the NHL), nothing could stop him... Other than his seemingly glass skull and the fact he skated with his head down too often.

1. Scott Stevens:
When it comes to hitting Scott Stevens is the G.O.A.T. He DEVASTATED the NHL leaving a trail of winded, unconscious, amnesia affected, brain damaged NHL players as long as the eye could see. There is really nothing else to say about Stevens, like Joe Sakic owns the greatest wrist shot and it is universally known Stevens is the best body-checker no matter who you ask, so just watch the videos and enjoy.

TheGlove_20

If you have not had enough f the NHL brutality I thought I would add some variations of the top 10 Hits in NHL history!
